US 33 Accident Today: Cameron Lyon Killed in Fatal Fairfield County Crash

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, OHIO — A fatal accident on U.S. Route 33 in Fairfield County, Ohio, left a 23-year-old man dead and two other people injured Sunday evening after a two-vehicle collision near U.S. Route 22.

Cameron Lyon Identified as Fatal Crash Victim

Authorities identified the man who died as Cameron Lyon, 23, of Caledonia.

According to investigators, Lyon was traveling westbound on U.S. 33 in a 2025 Chevrolet Trax when his vehicle was struck by a 2016 GMC Terrain.

The GMC was traveling eastbound when it reportedly left the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then overcorrected, crossed toward the opposite side of the roadway and overturned into the westbound lanes.

The overturned GMC subsequently struck the Chevrolet Trax. The GMC also caught fire following the collision.

Lyon was treated at the scene by emergency responders before being transported by Hocking Township EMS to Fairfield Medical Center. He later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Two Others Injured in US 33 Collision

A passenger in Lyon’s Chevrolet Trax, 23-year-old Abrielle Kerns of Lancaster, was also injured.

Kerns was transported by Berne Township EMS to Mount Carmel East Hospital. Her injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the GMC Terrain, 33-year-old Alvaro Uriber of Columbus, was transported by Lancaster EMS to Fairfield Medical Center with minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
